NRAMA: Obviously, one of the major, if not the major story this week was the release of The Dark Tower, both with the midnight release, and the normal release on Wednesday. Can you stick your head into the sales offices and get a ballpark reading on how the numbers look in regards to how many were ordered and if they're close to selling out?
JQ: Well, you know we don’t discuss those actual numbers in public forums like this, so let me just say that we’re looking at the first issue surpassing 200k units in sales and this makes it quite possibly the biggest selling, non-superhero comic book in recent memory. The happy news is that we’re exceeding all of our expectations and projections with this project.

Q: Anything new on Ultimate Hulk vs. Wolverine? Still plan on getting those scripts, etc.? Or is it just quietly cancelled now? And hypothetically speaking, if Lindeloff sends you the scripts tomorrow, who would the artist be, now that Yu is knee-deep in New Avengers?
JQ: I just heard from Damon this week, and apparently he’s working on the next script and as far as we know and desire, Leinil will be finishing the series. The beauty of Leinil is how incredibly fast and dedicated he is. He’s a joy to work with and does his monthly project and usually gets a side project done in drips and drabs on the side.
I hate him [laughs]

Q: “Miquelrius” - What will Sue Storm Richards be up to now that her ties with Fantastic Four have been severed? Will there ever be a clarification of the interactions between her and Namor?
JQ: Sue’s future status will be revealed in upcoming issues of Fantastic Four, starting with the anniversary issue, #543. And I’m not sure what clarification you’re looking for regarding her interactions with Namor — they seem pretty self-evident to me.

Q: “Spidey616” - I've been reading Kaare Andrews' Spider-Man: Reign mini and I'm lovin' it! I'm sure that you have been constantly told of its similarity to Frank Miller's The Dark Returns both in terms of story and art, so to put an end to the question once and for all, what's your take on it? Is Reign just one big DKR homage, or is Andrews, like Miller, taking a classic character into a dark direction, but unlike Miller, one that reflects the 21st century?
JQ: Well, I don’t know how I can put an end to a debate as I’m just another opinion like everyone else’s. To me it’s pretty obvious that Kaare is influenced by Frank, I think it’s pretty evident and he wears it on his sleeve in this project. I mean the reporter’s names on Miller, Jansen and Var so it’s not like he’s hiding or running away from his influences here. But heck, Frank’s work has been a huge inspiration on my work as well. It’s kind of unavoidable. Sure, to me there are definitely undertones of Franks Dark Knight work, but Reign is a pretty amazing piece of work in itself. So, while the homages are cool, it’s the story that is just fantastic

Q: “The 'Nam” - Is there any definitive answer as to whether Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane will continue after McKeever goes to the dark side, and if so, any word on the new writer?
JQ: The ‘Nam, no news to report yet, we’re currently investigating options. I love the book, so I would love to keep it going, but there are a lot of factors that we are in the process of discussing internally. We’ll have an answer soon enough and you’ll hear it here first, I think?

Q: “mattguthrie” - I was wondering as a huge fan of X-Statix, if we will see some of the characters return to the Marvel U? With the re-emergence of Doop (that didn't really do anything) and the very entertaining Dead Girl mini, I was hoping to see more of those wacky mutants in the near future.
JQ: mattguthrie, while there are no current plans that I’m aware of, new head X-Men Editor Axel Alonso is the guy who brought you X-Statix in the first place. So, I wouldn’t be surprised that once Axel gets his sea legs (X-Legs?) underneath him that the idea of those characters in one manifestation or another seeing the light of day.
And yes, Doop rocks!

Q: “JRCarter” - When is Luke Cage and Jessica Jones' baby gonna get a name?
JQ: You know, JRCarter, I honestly don’t know so I sent Brian Bendis an email with your question and here’s what he wrote.
Brian Bendis:- The baby's name is Joey Q. Cage.
JQ: See? That's how you kiss your bosses @$$![]()
The real answer to the question is that you'll find out baby Cage Jones name this summer.
JQ: There you have it, straight from the source

Q: “Mrsupertight” - In the most recent issue of Iron Man, Tony asked to meet Cap in Yankee Stadium and when he shows up Patrick Zircher used at first McAfee Coliseum in Oakland then later used The Green Monster in Fenway. Are likenesses of Yankee Stadium not allowed? Or is it just poor research by the artist?
JQ: You know, as a sports nut, I noticed that as well. I honestly couldn’t tell you why Patrick did that. Perhaps he just hates the Yankees like so many of us [laughs].
New Marvel mandate. No rendering of Yankee Stadium. ‘Nuff said!

Q: “Moshikal” - Now that Angel Medina is working on Mighty Avengers, who will be the new artist of Sensational Spider-Man?
JQ: Moshikal, Angel is doing a fill-in arc on Mighty Avengers, he isn’t the permanent artist.
Ramon Bachs will be the guest penciler for issues #36 & 37, leading up to the Sensational Spider-Man Annual by Matt Fraction and Salvador Larocca. Here’s some gorgeous art from the annual, which is on-sale in May, along with some art from a flashback scene.

: “IronWolf” - Hey Joe How long is Frank Cho slatted to be on Mighty Avengers?
JQ: Frank’s on board for the foreseeable future, Iron Wolf. He’ll be doing the opening arc of six issues, then Angel Medina will handle the second story to give Frank the lead time to move ahead to the third arc.

Q: “:packy4778” - I'm biting my nails in anticipation for the return of Alan Davis and the ClanDestine!! (FF: The End is great too!) Any details you can drop about the relaunch? (Is it a mini? Ongoing? And will you re-release the original Alan issues in a gorgeous hardcover? PLEASE???)
JQ: ClanDestine is being planned as a series of limited series, in order to give Alan the lead time he needs to be able to write and pencil each issue. We’ll be making an announcement as to when the first issue will be released once we get closer. And yes, the plan is to collect the original issues at the same time.

Q: “Gunslinger” - When can we expect Annihilation 2 to come out?
JQ: You know Gunslinger, lets ask the new master of the cosmic, Editor Bill Rosemann about what’s in his hyperdrive.
Bill Rosemann: I'm glad to hear you're hungry for more Marvel sci-fi action, Gunslinger! Cosmic fans spoke loud and clear - both online and with their wallets - and convinced us to keep exploring the characters and worlds of Annihilation. So if it's extra cosmic chaos you want, first lookout for the two Annihilation: Heralds of Galactus one-shots (on sale in Feb. and March by such talents as Christos N. Gage, Giuseppe Camuncoli, Stuart Moore, Mike McKone, Andrea Divito, Scott Kolins and Keith Giffen).
Then pull on your blast helmet and check out Nova #1 (by the writing team of Dan Abnett & Andy Lanning, penciler Sean Chen, inker Scott Hanna, colorist Guru EFX and cover artist Adi Granov) in April - and stay tuned for an announcement we'll be making at this month's New York Comic Con! I have a feeling the sci-fi storm we have brewing will blow you away!

Q: “MazingMan728” - Where has America's Favorite Side-kick Rick Jones been during Civil War and will his thoughts and choosing of sides be addressed?
JQ: Rick shows up in Captain America #26 and will have a role to play in World War Hulk.
Quoted
Q: “RunawayMouse” - I was wondering if Marko Djurdjevic is going to do an interior art soon? I've been amazed by his covers and would really love to see him paint some interiors.
JQ: RunawayMouse, Marko is truly amazing and we’ve been discussing having him do some sequential art. Marko has never drawn comics before so we want to make sure that we show off his sequential work on just the right project or short story. Stay tuned!

Q: “Hrungr” - Carlo Pagulayan had a fantastic run on Planet Hulk, but with Gary Frank apparently taking over the main book and John Romita Jr. on World War Hulk, I was wondering what he was up to next?
JQ: Hrungr, Gary is working on some of the World War Hulk tie-in issues, not “taking over” the book. Carlo will be back on starting with Hulk #108

Q: “Gaiate” - Now that Joss Whedon is no longer working on the Wonder Woman movie, is there any chance his run on Astonishing might be extended?
JQ: While I wouldn’t discount Joss perhaps coming back to Astonishing in the future, I think for now it’s in his rear view mirror as he focuses on his Runaways project for us. So, for now, no news to report on that front

Q: mightytev - Is Marvel planning anything special for the 10th Anniversary of the first issue of the Thunderbolts?
